Objective: 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

The course will enable the students to-

  1. Display advanced level of understanding of what a composition is in a 3D work of art.
  2. Be able to form a connection in between two or more figures/objects in their artworks exemplifying their practice so far of elements and properties of art.
  3. Construct a sculpture using technique of assemblage –scrap metal pieces are used as forms to assemble together to compose a sculpture.
  4. Execute casted works of art with advanced understanding of techniques of casting and mould making.

(Practical)

 

The students will -

CO129: Analyze and hypothesize the sculpture in a 2D sketch or a small 3D maquette to organize form in the composition.

 

CO130: Create movement and rhythm between two or more forms  to construct a well-balanced composition

 

CO131: Categorize unique forms in existing material of scrap metal to form a composition in round by reposing, welding, bending etc to master the assembling technique of sculpture making.

 

CO132:  Recognize human figures and their anatomy; execute two or more human forms in composition, interacting with each other, to learn to compose using human figures.

 

CO133: Plan a mold that best solves the issues like undercuts, sharp bends, armature, etc. to execute molds that are easy to cast.

 

CO134: Devising a proper step by step plan to cast their molds, recognize their individual mold challenges and enhance material proficiency.

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration, Reading assignments.

Sketching, layouting, Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks, Field practical, handling of various material and mediums of art.

Advanced composition-individual or group compositions based on specific subject suitable for execution in fiber or scrape material

Submission:      4 compositions in fiber/ scrape material /Plaster.
