COURSE OBJECTIVES

The course will enable the students to-

  1. Study timeline to understand the Contemporary development of Indian Art.
  2. Develop understanding of chances in art due to socio political changes across different eras.
  3. Analyze each artist and their art work on the basis of their medium tools techniques and styles in which it is rendered.

The students will -

CO1: Develop an understanding of how art changes according to social political changes.

 

CO2: Distinguish between the works of each Artist with respect to the style of work

 

CO3:  Recognize the changes in contemporary techniques of carving, metallurgy, and casting used by artists mentioned in the syllabus.

 

CO4:  Identify the most important sculptures and architectures of Indian Art.

 

CO5: Appreciate and understand the significance of Contemporary Art in India.
