COURSE OBJECTIVES:

The course will enable the students to-

  1. Read and understand terminology of art terms
  2. Define   meaning of art, origin and its scope.
  3. Learn and identify the art elements principles of Composition.
  4. Outline the classification of Art , techniques ,materials and their uses.
  5. Examine and classify folk art of India.

Fundamentals of Visual Arts (Theory)

The students will -

CO1: Interpret and exemplify on art given by Indian and Western Art Scholars.

CO2:  Understand about the methods and techniques of Painting, Applied art, Sculpture and Printmaking.

CO3: Classify and compare various elements and principles of art.

CO4: To understand and classify Shadanga, six limbs of Indian painting.

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Tutorials, Reading assignments, Demonstration.

Learning activities for the students:

Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks.
