Objective: 

The course will enable the students to:

  1. Gain an understanding of the historical origins of miniature and cave paintings.
  2. Trace different miniature painting school chronologically.
  3. To articulate the timeline of Indian Medieval art.
  4. Reviewing the evaluation of painting in historical perspective.
  5. Develop knowledge to locate, interpret and analyze the art works done in the medieval period of Indian art.

The students will be able to-

CO59:  Deeper understanding of the history of cave art and miniature done in Pala, Jain Mughal, Rajasthani and Pahari period.

CO60: To perform historical and contextual analysis of works of art.

 

CO61: To recognize and understand major monuments and artists, methods and theories and be able to assess the qualities of work of art in their historical and cultural settings.

 

CO62: To develop visual awareness in methods, techniques and skills used in miniature composition.
