Objective: 

The course will enable the students to determine the origin and development of Western printmakers. Assemble printmaker’s working methodology to develop their own individualistic style as they interpret and analyse printmaker’s prints considering the style, technique and methods. Assess the qualities of prints in their cultural settings.

CO24: Develop an outline about the evolution and history of western printmakers, Durer, Chiaroscuro and woodcut.

CO25: Formulate the development of printmaking in Europe and determine the techniques like woodcut and metal engraving.

CO26: Elaborate all types of mediums like etching, lithography etc. in the field printmaking.

CO27: Justify the western master engraver’s role for fulfilling the religious and social needs through printmaking which assess through creative expression.

CO28: Theories on Master of Etching, Rembrandt and other media of printmaking like mezzotint and engraving.

CO29: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction.
