Objective: 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

The course will enable the students to-

  1. Develop a creative eye to appreciate Indian Modern art considering its subject, style and techniques.
  2. Assess the relationship between effects and techniques in a range of art works done by Modern Indian artists.
  3. Understand and learn the significance of context in informing the interpretation of art works.
  4. Student must form the habit of having contact with the artworks by visiting historical places, monuments, museums, galleries and exhibitions.

The students will -

CO202: Analyze socio political scenario to get an understanding of how the each of the mentioned artists created art works.

 

CO203:  Summarize and compare the development of Indian modern art over time to understand the need and importance of the changes that are occurring so as to inculcate the same in their works.

 

CO204: Interpret analytic and critical skills while reading the artist’s work in critical writing.

 

CO205: Recognize various art terminology to hold art discussions in museums, galleries and in class.
