Objective: 
  1. The importance of accessories like external flash units, reflective media, corrective and creative filters and camera supports like tripods.

  2. An aesthetic approach - dynamic and color composition theories and new theories practiced in the present context.

  3. Familiarity with common errors and way to avoid or correct them.

  4. Understanding common features like film speeds, color temperatures etc.

  5. Dynamics of exposure latitude and control using various camera modes. Exposure compensation and uses.

  6. Spot and matrix metering and exposure locking.

    1. File formats and sizing

  7. Understanding calibrations and color space.

  8. In-depth knowledge of Depth of Field - its relative factors and applications.

  9. Digital workflow.

  10. Being conversant with Photoshop CS 2 or CS 3 tools and applying them for purposes of image enhancement.

  11. Developing skills for constructive criticism of images, using aesthetic guidelines and evaluating the images for constant improvement on the basis of Metadata ( exif information).

  12. Identifying possible subjects of interest and shooting them with a purpose of building up a body of work comprising consistent outstanding images.

  13. Learning to edit bracketed images to prepare a portfolio for submission.

  14. Applying the skills learnt so far:

Common to all, especially for students opting for painting in the future:

a )  To be able to capture two dimensional objects like paintings in the proper perspective, reproduce true color tones and highlight textural and 

other effects which are the special characteristics of the particular work of art.

b) Use of photographic skills as part of a multimedia experiment in  creating paintings and similar works of art.

  1. Common to all, specially for students opting for sculpture in the future:

a )  To be able to capture three dimensional objects, like clay models and sculptures in various    

      materials, bringing out the material 

characteristics and form as well as texture in the subject. 

b) Be able to photograph a subject in the proper perspective, to use it further to create a sculpture    

     using the visual information
