Objective: 

The course will enable the students to While learning the usage, analyze and interpret the form, tone and texture. Apart from this, you will also learn the shape of the figure. Learn the processes of developing artworks in different mediums such as charcoal. Painting, dry pastel, oil pastel, pencil/pen, water color etc.

Portrait (Practical)

CO55: Create the Portrait by observation and keeping in mind the proportions, balance and light and dark shadows.

 

CO56: Prepare a submission demonstrating your observational skills on a portrait while looking at a model sitting in front.

 

CO57: Create artworks that demonstrate observation and analysis of compositional qualities such as balance, rhythm, perspective, etc. and exemplify them in a variety of mediums.

 

CO58: Debate your acquired skills of portrait paintings by verifying and answering questions in the oral examination.

 

CO59: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction.

COURSE CONTENT:

Study of portrait from life, delineation of the structure and the character of head, study of features, study of light and shade, in monochrome and color with drapery at the background (pencil/ charcoal/ dry pastel/ watercolor)

Submission:   5 works (1/2 imperial) in size

5 sketches of head study per day
