Objective: 

This course will enable the students to-

  1. Summarize step by step approach to building up a tone and color in black and white, monochrome and colored mediums along with drapery.
  2. Learn how to render the portrait from massing in the general shapes of the face to shading the more detailed features.
  3. Learn about drawing concepts such as negative shapes and rhythms, which will help to create a more accurate, yet natural-looking looking.

 (Practical)

The students will be able to-

CO17: Develop visual literacy and observation.  

CO18: Explore and perceive drawing skills of portrait in artworks.

CO19: Understand how to draw a technically accurate face, construct a head and its features. CO20: Able to construct and study the portrait of live model in varied angles of face in varied mediums.

 COURSE CONTENT:

Study of portrait from life, delineation of the structure and the character of head, study of features, study of light and shade, in monochrome and color with drapery at the background in Pencil, Charcoal, Pastels .
