Objective: 

The course will enable the students to construct relief sculptures in various extreme scales, tackling challenges associated with their execution. They will explore nontraditional media and practices to create relief sculptures that resonate with their artistic sensibilities. Additionally, students will execute their own unique thoughts and compositions in relief format, maintaining their individual style of rendering form in relief composition.

Relief Composition III

(Practical) 

CO57: Construct layouts or maquettes while maintaining their sense of style and individuality of form as an artist, even when executing on a flatter plane, to preserve their unique sense of self.

CO58: Make the submission of a relief composition using quick-dry mediums like Plaster of Paris or cement, exploring material proficiency and contemporary uses of non-traditional materials. Enhance the artwork through thoughtful assembling, framing, and spatial sense for a distinctive expression in display.

CO59: Interact with the comprehension rooted in composition and cultivated skills, as well as their sense of style and individuality as an artist forms.

CO60: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction.

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration

Sketching, lay outing of portrait study, Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks, Field practical, handling of tools, machines, and casting and molding equipments

COURSE CONTENT: 

Student will compose a relief (low/ high) and cast (if required) in any permanent medium (wood/ metal/ stone/ fiber/ scrape/ waste material)

SUBMISSIONS: 2 works in relief in minimum 4 sq feet.
