Objective: 

The course will enable the students to manipulate various forms of making and displaying relief sculptures to reinforce their ideas or concepts. They will develop unique relief sculpting techniques to enhance the readability of their concepts for audiences. Additionally, students will execute relief sculptures at extreme scales, both scaled up and down, utilizing this practice to further refine their artistic style.

CO80: Create layouts or maquettes to develop their own sense of style and manipulation of forms, resulting in reliefs that exhibit their unique aesthetic sense.

 

CO81: Construct a submission in any medium, using the concept of storytelling or narrative reliefs to create a series of interconnected pieces that function as a recital tool. Demonstrate a high level of understanding of mediums and techniques to develop a unique relief-making style that reflects your individual aesthetic.

CO82: Argue their ability to develop a distinct style and skillfully manipulate forms to create reliefs that showcase their unique aesthetic sensibility.

CO83: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction. 

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration, 

Learning activities for the students:

Sketching, lay outing of portrait study, Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks, Field practical, handling of tools, machines, and casting and molding equipment.

Layouts and Sketches, Continuous Assessment Test, Semester End Examinations, Daily Assignments, Observation, Student Teacher Interaction and Final Submissions.

COURSE CONTENT:

Student will compose a relief (low/ high) and cast (if required) in any permanent medium (wood/ metal/ stone/ fiber/ scrape/ waste material)

SUBMISSIONS: 2 works in relief in minimum 4 sq feet.
