Objective: 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

The course will enable the students to-

  1. Read and analyze the art works Western Modern artists.
  2. Understand a range of artistic techniques such as use of color, composition and medium.
  3. Learn how to do visual analysis.
  4. Study timeline to understand the historical development of Western art.

The students will-

CO172:  Recognize and analyze all the Western modern artists and their achievements, experiments and advancements to formulate in writings.

CO173:  Examine major art school, tradition, artists, artworks, aesthetic values and theories to assess the art works in their historical and cultural settings.

CO174: Develop analytic and critical skills and an artistic sensitivity to contemplate and interpret works of Western artists.

CO175:  Summarize and inculcate various techniques used by Western Modern artists to incorporate in their own work.

Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Tutorials, Reading assignments, Demonstration.

Learning activities for the students:

Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks.

 

Semester end examinations, Continuous Assessment Test, Class test, Quiz, Solving problems in tutorials, Assignments, Presentation, Individual and group projects, regular submission.
