Objective: 

The course will enable the students to trace different ideologies and socio political changes that ignited major changes in art form. Recognize, Interpret and analyse western movements from classical era to major avant garde movements.

CO70:  Trace the chronology of revival of the classical era in sculptures, analyze important works on the basis of technique, form and their biographical and socio-cultural context. 

CO71: Recognize the art movements and their journey to modernism, explore various artists and their manifestos, artworks, chosen mediums and contexts . 

CO72: Analyse and explore subject matter, style and technique of the mentioned modern sculptures keeping their social and cultural context in mind. 

CO73: Explore the primary and environmental sculptures while considering individual artists approach towards the movements.

CO74: Recognise the various avant garde moments and post modern trends, its practicing artists and their interpretations. Analyse their technique, mediums and conceptual contexts. 

CO75: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction.
