Abhivyakti ek prayaas, a creative tradition for over a decades culminating in the artistic calendar of the Department of Fine Arts, IIS (deemed to be) University, Jaipur. 2022-2023 marks the 20th annual exhibition which took place at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur from 6 April till 10 April 2023. The inauguration commenced with an opening ceremony that gathered esteemed guests, art enthusiasts, collectors and members of creative community. The highlight of the evening was the thought provoking and inspiring speech delivered by the esteemed Chief Guest Dr. B. D. Kalla, Cabinet Minister of Education (Primary and Secondary), Arts, Literature, Culture, & Archaeology Rajasthan, Jaipur, whose words echoed the significance of female artists and the need for their recognition and empowerment. Highlighting the power of art as a tool for empowerment, the Guest of Honour, Shri Vidhyasagar Upadhyay, Senior Artist, Jaipur, Rajasthan encouraged the female artists and aspiring talents present to embrace their individuality and unique perspectives, He emphasized the importance of self-belief, urging the artist to have confidence in their abilities and never shy away from expressing their creativity. He Also stressed the significance of mentorship, networking, and collaboration to foster a supportive community that uplifts and inspires one another.
The event facilitated interaction of young artist’s imaginations with the world outside and had served to combine their classroom experience of creative expression with rare world of arts. Artworks of the students from all streams like painting, sculpture, applied arts, print making and photography were presented in the exhibition. Abhivyakti displayed variety of art practices and experiments with an addition of varied techniques and mediums by the students. 209 students of BFA and MFA participated with around 2000 artworks showcased. The exhibit introduced students to the professional practices of the market in their field as well as skills for further work with galleries, preparing and displaying the work for exhibition and engaging the jury which is a necessary component for resume building and establishing themselves as practicing artists.
This resulted as a success under which works of Sem IV students Vanshika Bhatia, Pooja Moolchandani, Komal Soni, Shruti Panchal, Harshita Kothari, Lakshita, Himanshi Surana, Jasika Bansal, Parishi Batwara, Kanupriya Saini, Pakhi Jain, Sem VI students- Priyanshi Agarwal, Shruti Bhati, Somya Patni, Akshita Sharma and also Pooja Choudhary, Yashswi Solanki and Jyoti katewa of Sem II were sold out with further queries for the works of Sem VIII and MFA students.
Providing this platform in shape of Abhivyakti ek prayaas , IIS university is preparing students for the future by giving them the opportunity to exhibit their own work, skills and creativity on the platter that is the world.
