The students of Department of Applied Arts & Sculpture and Department of Painting, Printmaking & History of Arts participated in the same. The event, scheduled between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, was a vibrant celebration of creativity, patriotism, and cultural expression, aligning with the national initiative to honour the Tiranga, the symbol of India’s pride and unity.
A delegation of 16 students represented the IIS (deemed to be University) in this prestigious programme. The event provided a remarkable opportunity for students to express their artistic skills, innovative ideas, and cultural sensibilities while contributing to a state-level art movement of great significance.
The Poster Making witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students who created visually appealing posters with catchy and thought-provoking captions. Their artworks reflected deep respect for the Indian flag and the idea of Har Ghar Tiranga, emphasizing unity in diversity, freedom, and national pride. Many posters highlighted themes such as the role of youth in nation-building, the strength of democracy, and the importance of cultural harmony. The use of bold colours, modern design elements, and symbolic representations of the tricolour made the posters visually captivating and emotionally resonant.
Parallel to this, the Rangoli Making added a traditional charm to the event. Students showcased their talent by preparing intricate rangoli designs that beautifully combined the national colours with motifs inspired by Indian culture, heritage, and folk art. The rangolis not only depicted the tricolour in creative patterns but also integrated symbols such as the Ashoka Chakra, peacocks, lotus, and traditional Rajasthani designs, reflecting the vibrancy of Indian culture. These rangolis served as visual narratives of patriotism and cultural pride, drawing the attention of visitors and participants alike.
The event was further elevated by the gracious presence of distinguished guests. Smt. Alka Meena, ADG, and Shri Abdul Lateef Usta, Superintendent cum Assistant Director, Jawahar Kala Kendra, visited the venue and interacted with the participants. Their encouraging words and keen appreciation of the students’ efforts boosted the morale of all participants. They highlighted the role of young artists in shaping cultural narratives and applauded the creative interpretation of the Har Ghar Tiranga theme. Their presence added motivation and prestige to the event, making it a memorable experience for the students.
The participation of our students in this event not only honed their artistic abilities but also instilled a stronger sense of national pride and responsibility. It gave them exposure to a state-level cultural platform, where their creativity was acknowledged and celebrated. By engaging in this initiative, they also contributed to promoting the spirit of patriotism through art and reinforced the message of unity and inclusivity.
In conclusion, the Poster Making and Rangoli Making at Jawahar Kala Kendra was a resounding success. The participating students made the institution proud with their talent, enthusiasm, and dedication. Their artworks stood as a tribute to the Tiranga and as an expression of their commitment to Indian culture and values. The event not only celebrated Independence Day but also reminded everyone present of the enduring power of art in strengthening national identity and unity.
