The Department of Fine Arts and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) organized a 2-day visit for the Applied Arts students of BFA & MFA to National Printing Expo organized by Printers Club Private Limited on 2 & 4 March 2024. This visit served as an opportunity for the students to explore the latest advancements in the printing industry. They were accompanied by Ms. Manika Sharma, Mr. Shwet Goel & Ms. Sheetal Chitlangiya.
The main objectives for attending the expo were threefold. Firstly, the department aimed to give students an insight into cutting-edge printing technologies. Secondly, the aim was to establish connections with industry professionals to foster potential collaborations and stay informed about industry trends. Lastly, the department aimed to provide the students with a practical understanding of the current state of the printing industry, exposing them to real-world applications and inspiring innovative thinking.
Students were impressed by the innovative printing technologies on display, especially the mechanical demonstrations that highlighted potential interdisciplinary collaborations. The visit provided a detailed understanding of the printing processes like Offset, Flexography, Digital Printing, and automatic Screen Printing. The students witnessed demonstrations on printing Paper, Plastic, Fabric, Metal etc.
Networking opportunities were abundant, and these interactions facilitated valuable discussions on industry challenges, trends, and potential partnerships. The expo also played a crucial role in student engagement. They had the opportunity to interact with industry professionals, ask questions, and witness live demonstrations. This hands-on experience undoubtedly contributed to their academic and professional development.
In conclusion, the Expo proved to be an enriching experience for the students of Fine Arts Department, offering a glimpse into the future of printing technologies and establishing connections that hold the potential to shape the future of the curriculum and research endeavors.
