‘17th Abhivyakti Ek Prayas’ The Annual Art Exhibition, March 2017

The 17th annual exhibition of the year 2016-17 Abhivyakti …ek prayas was held at the art centre of Jaipur, Jawahar Kala Kendra in the month of March 2017. Here the department of fine arts presented the annual collective art show at the end of its academic year. The Department with both Bachelors and Masters programmes presented a powerful show with art works of all the three streams of fine arts.152 students participated in this exhibition.The exhibition displayed first year student’s work in basically all genres. Their works included basic designing with forms and patterns, still life study of objects and plants, woodcut and linocut prints on self made sketches of outdoor and indoor observations, tempera technique based painting work on students personal imageries. Second year students' works are a specialised version of their chosen streams. Here students created posters, murals, product campaigns. Press ads, commercial and personal photography, article illustrations, caricatures and designs on t-shirts’ and printing explored by the consequent year students were also displayed under the applied genre of the exhibition. Painting students displayed head study, full life study and creative compositions in various mediums. One can witness mixed medium handling in the Masters student’s works displayed in the show.  Graphic students worked on various mediums like etching, lithography and wood cut and displayed their versatile prints in the show. Students of the sculpture specialization from bachelors displayed their head study, hand and feet study work in mediums like terracotta and plaster or cement cast. Master’s students displayed their further explored compositions and studies in various mediums.  The combined effort and versatility of the participants made the show a huge success.
