Objective: 

COURSE OBJECTIVES

This course will enable the students to-

  1. An understanding basic elements and principles of art and ability to apply them to a specific aesthetic intent.
  2. Gain an understanding of the historical origins of art history.

 Fundamentals of Visual art

(Theory)

 

The students will be able to-

CO1: Interpret and exemplify on art given by Indian and Western Scholars.

 

CO2:  Understand about the methods and techniques of Painting, Applied art, Sculpture and Printmaking.

CO3: Classify and compare various elements of art: Line, Color, Tone, Texture and Space and  classify principles of Composition: Unity, Balance, Harmony, Rhythm, Proportion, Dominance and Perspective.

CO4: understand and apply  Shadanga, six limbs of Indian painting in her work.

 

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Tutorials, Reading assignments,

Demonstration.

 

Learning activities for the students:

Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks.

 

Semester end examinations, Continuous Assessment Test, Quiz, Solving problems in tutorials,

 

Assignments, Presentation, Individual and group projects, regular submission.
