Objective: 

The course will enable the students to construct illustrations using design principles and elements, create artworks with different rendering techniques, and modify artworks to meet market needs.

CO90: Depict their drawing development and design skills of image making progress through sketches.

 

CO91: Prepare a portfolio displaying their rendering technique & colour technique skills.

 

CO92: Create an illustration displaying an understanding of form, light and shadow, space interpretation, texture using different rendering techniques

 

CO93: Defend the understanding of photo evaluation, colour techniques, typographic illustrations developed and establish herself as an artist.

 

CO94: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

Approach in teaching: Interactive Lectures, Discussion,

Ideation, Tutorials, Assignments, Brainstorming, Demonstration

 

Learning activities for the students: Self-Learning Assignments, Giving Tasks, Visualization, Experimenting, Sketching to Learn, Free Exploration, Focused Exploration.

Layouts & Sketches, Continuous Assessment Test, Semester End  Examinations, Daily Assignments, Observation, Student Teacher Interaction and Final Submissions

The focus is placed on developing drawing and design skills through image making with an emphasis on construction of form, light and shadow, space interpretation, texture and observation.

  • Photo Evaluation: conversion by dots, lines and colours.
  • Different colour techniques: opaque, transparent, translucent.
  • Typographic Illustrations: 2

 

Submission: Min. four assignments
