Objective: 

The course will enable the students to embark on an exploration within the art world, delving into the vast opportunities available for original creations rooted in a professional understanding of art elements and principles. They will master techniques and tool handling to shape sculptural surfaces that embody their creative vision. Additionally, they will utilize their artwork as a platform to express their ideologies and insights into socio-political issues through the dynamic medium of three-dimensional art, fostering meaningful discourse and reflection.

Figurative Sculpture

(Practical)

 

CO89: Construct layouts or maquettes of figurative forms to lay the groundwork for a series of original artworks. Establish cohesive connections in form, concept, and execution to cultivate a unique artistic language.

 

CO90: Create a portfolio showcasing expertise in direct building techniques, expanding material range, and offering fresh perspectives in artistic expression.

 

CO91: Argue their attained skill of subjectivity and figurative sculpture while observing studio code of conduct.

 

 CO92: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction.

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration,

 

Learning activities for the students:

 Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks, Field practical, handling of tools, machines, and casting and molding equipment.

Layouts and Sketches, Continuous Assessment Test, Semester End Examinations, Daily Assignments, Observation, Student Teacher Interaction and Final Submissions.

 

COURSE CONTENT:

Student will prepare a creative sculpture based on figures in his own style using different techniques and mediums.

 

SUBMISSIONS: 3 works of 2’ minimum
