Objective: 

The course will enable the students to create a relief sculpture using clay. They will be able to understand how to perceive a 3D form in a relief format, and execute all types of reliefs - High, Bas, and Sunken. Gain the basic knowledge of perspective.

CO54: Produce a step by step progress through layouts exemplifying of the process

CO55: Create final reliefs sculpture of their chosen Layout in clay then mold and cast the composition into a permanent medium to showcase their ability of deep understanding and handling the medium

CO56: Produce an artwork displaying observation and analysis of composition like rhythm, balance, etc.

CO57: Evaluate her skills of relief composition and medium developed in the class through a viva.

CO58: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction.

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration, Reading assignments.

Learning activities for the students:

Sketching, layouting of portrait study, Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks, Field practical, handling of various material and mediums of art.

Layouts and Sketches, Continuous Assessment Test, Semester End Examination, Daily Assignments, Observation, Student Teacher Interaction and Final Submission.

COURSE CONTENT: 

Composition in clay of your own choice and their representation in relief with two or more human figures, birds, animals with modeling and casting. Direct building process in plaster, cement and terracotta.

 

SUBMISSIONS: 4 Relief Composition in any two processes, 20 drawings based on composition
