Objective: 

The course will enable the students to execute advanced finished works in terracotta and ceramic. They will be able to practice and precise their techniques on pottery wheels or constructing using coiling methods. Learn about the kiln and the different temperatures on which various kinds of firing takes place.

(Practical)

CO49: Compose a layout and maquettes for final compositions keeping the various constituents of clay, their properties, and consistencies in mind to rethink their components of clay and adjust accordingly.

CO50: Prepare a portfolio displaying the various skills  like throwing, pulling, coiling, joining etc. effect on the wheel, hollow works in clay. Manage the sculpture at various moisture levels of clay like leather dry, bone dry etc. Execute the learn theory of firing of a terracotta or ceramic work in a kiln and various temperatures

CO51: Appraise their skills and techniques used to create compositions and establish herself as an employable terracotta or ceramic artist in national/international industry.

CO52: Contribute 

effectively in course-specific interaction

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration, Reading assignments.

Learning activities for the students:

Sketching, lay out, Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, giving tasks, Field practical, handling of matrix, tools and varied materials, giving tasks to create sketches, layouts.

COURSE CONTENT:

Advanced work in terracotta. Three dimensional creative with the help of the wheel, introduction of glaze, ingredients and firing.
