The course will enable the students to observing, analyzing, and interpreting forms on a 2D plane through a range of relief practices, including haut, bas, and sunken reliefs. They will explore techniques to replicate or create new surface textures and treatments on relief surfaces, whether casted or carved. Additionally, students will develop precision in measuring various details of forms and reinterpret them in relief format, enhancing their understanding and mastery of sculptural expression in relief.
COURSE CONTENT:
Student will compose a relief (low/ high) and cast (if required) in any permanent medium (wood/ metal/ stone/ fiber/ scrape/ waste material)
SUBMISSIONS: 2 works in relief in minimum 4 sq feet.
