Objective: 

The course will enable the students to identify and analyze the modern and contemporary sculptors of India. Develop deep appreciation of their styles, techniques, and choice of mediums in accordance to the biographical and socio-political context of each artist.

(Theory)

CO25: Develop an understanding of the sentiments and motivations of artists during the pre-independence era. Recognize their technique and styles.  

CO25: Analyse the techniques, style, and subject matter used by the specified post-modern artist to reflect on how they cultivated Indianness in their works of art

CO26:  Develop skills to analyse and evaluate modern sculptors of India based on their influences, style, contexts and individual experimentations with technique.

CO27: Recognize the important tribal and folk techniques of India. Understand the cultural significance, workings of the community, and special tools and techniques used. 

CO28: Reflect on contemporary women sculptors, tracing their journey into the field recognizing their individual techniques and subject matters. 

CO29: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction.
