Objective: 

The course will enable the students to learn by recreating artwork from significant historical artists, observing and analyzing how portrait art has evolved over time. This process involves duplicating the artist's style, mastering tool handling, and understanding surface treatments. By doing so, students develop market-ready skills and an appreciation for global artistic needs.

Antique Portrait Study II

(Practical) 

CO39: Create sketches of antique portraits by old masters to grasp fundamental structures. Analyze and refine the details of these portraits through replication, acquiring skills akin to those of the old masters.

CO40: Create a portfolio highlighting skill development through historical tools and mediums. Replicate facial features and portraiture from ancient civilizations, accurately recreating textures and colors to demonstrate mastery of historical techniques and styles.

CO41: Justify acquired skills by analyzing portrait features to identify historical beauty standards. Explain the molding and casting process, adhering to professional ethics as envisioned in the original works.

CO42: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction.

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration, 

Learning activities for the students:

Sketching, lay outing of composition, Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks, Field practical, handling of tools, machines, and casting and molding equipment.

Layouts and Sketches, Continuous Assessment Test, Semester End Examinations, Daily Assignments, Observation, Student Teacher Interaction and Final Submissions.

Study of portraits made by great masters (Greek, Roman, Western, Indian etc.)
