Objective: 

The course will enable the students to understand the digital image terminology and develop the ability to discern target audiences and purposes for graphic creation. Effectively communicate through designs using the elements and principles of design. Enhance the editing & designing and build cognitive and interpersonal skills to meet the market requirements

Vector Illustration

(Practical)

CO1: Develop layouts for designs and illustration in the software by using various tools

 

CO2: Create a portfolio displaying their software skills in drawing tools, vector illustrations, conceptual compositions, Typography Design, Product Illustrations, Portrait, Life drawings or illustrations, Still Life, abstract Illustration.

 

CO3: Appraise the aesthetic sense and compositional skills in designs created in response to market needs and establish herself in the market as an expert

 

CO4: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

Approach in teaching: Interactive Lectures, Discussion,

Ideation, Tutorials, Assignments, Brainstorming, Demonstration

 

Learning activities for the students: Self-Learning Assignments, Giving Tasks, Visualization, Experimenting, Sketching to Learn, Free Exploration, Focused Exploration.

Layouts & Sketches, Continuous Assessment Test, Semester End  Examinations, Daily Assignments, Observation, Student Teacher Interaction and Final Submissions

COURSE CONTENT:

  1. Overview the workspace
  2. Basic tools and techniques
  3. Working with shapes and text
  4. Drawing with tools and shape manipulation
  5. Working with colour, gradients and patterns
  6. Working with effects
  7. Blending and clipping masks
  8. Creating designs and illustrations
  9. Creating web graphics
  10. Printing and Exporting

Submission: 15 designs

 

  • 3 Conceptual Compositions (landscape, cityscape, environment design) 
  • 2 Typography Design,
  • 2 Product Illustrations and 2 abstract Illustration
  • 2 Portrait,
  • 2 Life drawings or illustrations & 2 Still Life
