Objective: 

The course will enable the students to create both manual and digital illustrations tailored to specific topics and audiences. They will learn to summarize written content through illustrations for diverse applications, while also developing their unique artistic style.

Graphic Illustration - I (Practical)

CO11: Develop the ability of visual representation supported by text through experimentation with multiple sketches while enhancing them in layout format for final works.

CO12: Build the skills of designing pattern & panache in her illustrative art, using different techniques and blend conceptual art with visual aesthetics. Compose a personalized style of illustration for submission, which further helps in recognition as an illustration artist.

CO13: Defend the illustration of both the client and target group in her viva, proving the professional application in accordance to the market acceptance.

CO14: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

Approach in teaching: Interactive Lectures, Discussion,

Ideation, Tutorials, Assignments, Brainstorming, Demonstration

Learning activities for the students: Self-Learning Assignments, Giving Tasks, Visualization, Experimenting, Sketching to Learn, Free Exploration, Focused Exploration.

Layouts & Sketches, Continuous Assessment Test, Semester End  Examinations, Daily Assignments, Observation, Student Teacher Interaction and Final Submissions

COURSE CONTENT:

  • Exercise 1

Students will prepare four illustrations for different advertising media, based on their own sketches in different mediums, like water colour, pen & ink, pencil colour and poster colour.

  • Exercise 2

Four computer generated illustrations for different advertising media, like poster, newspaper, magazine, and brochure.
