Objective: 

Student will be able to –

  1. Create a relief sculptures using clay by understanding how to perceive a 3D form in a relief format.
  2. Distinguish between and execute all types of reliefs - High, Bas, and Sunken.
  3. Create an illusion of depth and height in a controlled width of the relief.
  4. Gain the basic knowledge of perspective and adjust the height of the relief according to perspective
  5. Produce finished reliefs in permanent mediums such as Pop or Fiberglass

Composition in Relief (Practical)

 

 

The students will be able to-

CO48: Achieve theoretical knowledge of different types of relief along with practical assignments of relief.

CO49: Create a relief sculpture of their chosen organic form while understanding the form in terms of structure, proportion, and texture.

CO50: To apply various methods to create illusion of depth in the work

 

CO51: ToIllustrate and create a composition in clay and the cast in in a permanent medium listed in the syllabus.

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration, Reading assignments.

COURSE CONTENT: Composition in clay of your own choice and their representation in relief with two or more human figures, birds, animals with modeling and casting. Direct building process in plaster, cement and terracotta.
