Objective: 

The course will enable the students to- 

 

  1. Get a practical experience of working with larger quantity of materials
  2. Interpret in clay a chosen organic form such as a bird or and animal – Understand its structure, proportion, texture etc
  3. Compose a 3D work of art using two or more human figures, birds or animals. 
  4. Construct a 3D art work directly from PoP or cement, employing the techniques of direct handling of these materials.

(Practical)

The students will -

CO94: Compose with two or more of their chosen organic forms while to display their knowledge of properties and elements of art.

CO95: Analyze and understand anatomy of the chosen forms in the composition to build a sculpture that looks interesting from all directions. 

CO96: Build a sculpture on a well-built armature, constructing on it directly using quick drying mediums like PoP or cement for extreme practice in addition method of sculpting. 

CO97: Apply enhanced observation to build a sculpture that is compositionally sound to practice building a sense of rhythm and balance.  

CO98:  Demonstrate their mold making skills on a simpler level, taking mold with three to four pieces to understand the basic of the processes.

CO99: Practice casting the sculpture in permanent medium to add to their knowledge of newer mediums and how they work.

CO100: Experiment with various filing methods and surface abrasives to achieve a smoother finish to the work of art that is often highly desirable amongst clients.

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration, Reading assignments.

Sketching, lay outing , Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks, Field practical, handling of various material and mediums of art.

Semester end examinations, Continuous Assessment Test, Sketching, layouts Viva-Voice on display of artworks, Continuous Assessment Test, Quizzes, Solving problems in tutorials, Assignments, Presentation, Individual and regular submission.

COURSE CONTENT:

Composition in clay of your own choice and the enlargement in round with two or more human figures , birds, animals with molding and casting. Direct building process in plaster , cement.
