COURSE OBJECTIVES

The course will enable the students to-

  1. Boost students for developing their personal style.
  2. Construct different living creatures in appropriate environment on one picture plane
  3. Get knowledge of figure drawings, anatomy, and proportion.
  4. Develop compositional sense in their own style.

Figurative Composition(Practical)

 

The Students Will –

CO17: Demonstrate an ability to draw the human figure, all living creatures appropriately after observations

CO18: Apply drawing skills, gestures, proportion, foreshortening and artistic anatomy

CO19: Understand lines and forms of figures to manipulate and to communicate the thought process.

CO20: Develop and construct creative ways to paint by using varieties of strategies for expressing visual study.

CO21:  Build up sense to create these studies in compositions in various art styles, techniques, mediums and themes

CO22: Exemplify knowledge to create figurative composition in aesthetic frame

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Tutorials, Reading assignments, Demonstration

Learning activities for the students:

Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks.

Semester end examination, Continuous Assessment Test, Sketching, layouts, Solving problems in tutorials, Assignments, Presentation, Individual and group projects, regular, display and submission of artworks.

 

COURSE CONTENT:

The student will compose a composition based on human figures in her own style choosing any medium. Study of human figures from different angles, light and measurements are to be exercised to develop compositional sense. The student is free to develop her own style in any medium.

Submissions:

5 Paintings, Canvas Size- 3’x 4’ (minimum)
