Objective: 

The course will enable the students to proficiently display their acquired sculpting skills at an artists’ studio or foundary in turn making them employable artists for various regional and national art studios.  They will be able to recognize and fulfil the needs of different organizational management works. The course will enable students to build hands on experience in additional skills and to expand their creative knowledge.

CO53: Develop proficiency in using various sculpting tools, mediums, and techniques appropriate to the subject, such as clay modeling, casting, and carving. Establish a professional network by connecting with industry professionals, mentors, and peers to enhance skills and opportunities within the sculptural arts community.

 

CO54: Create a portfolio showcasing a range of sculptural projects and artworks, including clay models, cast pieces, and carved sculptures, all completed during the internship.

 

CO55: Produce comprehensive and well-structured reports that reflect their written as well as creative and visual communication skills. Develop the ability to critically evaluate their work and the work of others, incorporating constructive feedback to refine artistic outputs and establish herself in the chosen career path.

COURSE CONTENT:

Students will be required to undergo three months practical training under a renowned artist, artisan or craftsman. The training is an opportunity to gain work experience in an area of interest and it is mandatory. Students have to select a particular area of their interest like  Stone carving, wood carving, metal casting, ceramic, terracotta, glass sculpture, plaster casting, mixed media sculpture etc.

The student will also make a detailed report of the day to day work and attach her own photographs of the learning stages. She has to submit the same to the teacher mentor and will take a viva-vice to clear the paper.

 
 

NOTE: The artist/agency under whom the student is taking training will create a report of the student on the basis of Attendance, Interaction, Sincerity, Creativity, work done during the training, and overall performance of the student. The student will work for minimum 270 hours during the semester to earn 20 credits and minimum 40% marks out of 60
