Objective: 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

The course will enable the students to-

  1. Develop observation and understanding of the human structure.
  2. Proficient in capturing mood of seated model and transfer it in the form of composition.
  3. Apply emphasis on structure building and lateral balance of the body.
  4. Exemplify and create life study in a permanent medium using casting mould making processes

The students will-

CO217: Plan to position a live model in complex poses sketching out their anatomy on a 2D surface to get confirm idea of what they have to make in 3D.

 

CO218: Develop understanding of human proportions with respect to its head as a unit so as to construct a proper armature according to the live model.

 

CO219: Moderate the application techniques of clay on a well built armature in a way that structure, proportion etc. can be replicated from a given live reference so that the students’ observation of human body increases multiple folds.

 

CO220: Measure the proportions of live model to be able to scale up or scale down the measurements according to their size of the sculpture.

 

CO221: Apply clay in accordance to the muscles of the body memorizing the each important muscles in the body part so that they can later twist and turn these muscles, resizing body according to their aesthetic.

 

CO222: Plan and execute cast and mold of a full life to solve in real time the complexities and difficulties faced during the process.

 

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration, Reading assignments.

COURSE CONTENT:

 

Full figure study, drawing and modeling in clay form with emphasis on character, proportion and human anatomy.

 

Submission: 01   Life study of the actual life size in plaster/ cement casting

                      10  Live drawings in charcoal and pencil.
