Live Portrait Study (Practical)

The students will- CO35: Duplicate character of the live model in clay to practice and memorize facial anatomy
CO36: Adapt to various complexities of mold making and casting a bust/head into a permanent medium to be able to execute market ready professional portraits.
CO37: Generate a deeper understanding of each individual feature of a portrait, i.e., eyes, nose , lips etc with respect to the given model to be able to replicate the character of given model.
CO 38: Experiment with different facial features, bone structures, male and female models so as to get well equipped with every type of face structure.
CO 39: Simulate various intricacies of a human head like wrinkles, spots, moles, muscle mass etc to be able to add that in their individual works later.
CO 40: Facilitate measurements and proportions by scaling up and scaling down the portrait to gain confidence in executing portraits of every size.

Approach in teaching: Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration, Reading assignments. Learning activities for the students: Sketching, lay outing of composition, Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks, Field practical, handling of clay and tools. |
