  2. Students will be able to identify the grains of wood and use tools accordingly.
  3. Construct a 3D composition in wood exemplifying their knowledge of elements and properties of art so far.
  4. Assemble carved wood into a 3D composition or relief.

Synthetic Mold And Cast

(Practical)

The students will –

CO101: detect the material and process of casting and mould making of existing sculptures to be able to understand how commercial sculptures are made.

CO102: Hypothesise for a clay modeled work the process of synthetic mould making in silicon, rubber, fiber etc to ensure material proficiency in making a reusable moulds.

CO103: accomplish familiarity to the process of casting and moulding at advanced level to get market ready skill set for their further classes.

CO104: Experiment with various new age materials of casting like fiber glass, resin. silicon etc to ensure they will not rely solely of traditional mediums of casting like plaster and cement etc.

CO105: differentiate in the traditional and contemporary materials, debating pros and cons of both to understand which medium to choose according to the composition they develop in the future classes.

CO106: Master the technique of simplifying the form with respect to the reusable moulding process and multiple casting processes accordingly, keeping the requirement of the composition in mind.

CO107: understand the economics and durability of these mediums to learn how to value their projects in future.

CO108: Construct simple compositions enabling multiple casting to build a compositional sense of works that involve multiple casting of a form.
