Objective: 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

The course will enable the students to-

1.  Understand and analyze historical development of Western art.

2.  Knowledge to demonstrate visual representation and identification of significant artwork of the western artist.

3.  Skilled in creative and critical thinking, visual analysis, integration of theoretical perspectives.

4.  Inculcate the value of tradition, art movements and techniques in western art.

The students will-

CO216:   Analyze socio political scenario to get an understanding of how each of the mentioned western modern artists created art works.

CO217:  Summarize and compare the development of Western modern art over time to understand the need and importance of the changes that are occurring so as to inculcate the same in their works.

CO218:  Interpret analytic and critical skills while reading the artist’s work in critical writing.

CO219:   Recognize various art terminology to hold art discussions in museums, galleries and in class.

Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Tutorials, Reading assignments, Demonstration.

Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks.
