Around 132 students of the Department of Visual Arts, The IIS University have showcased their work in various forms of art like photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, two-dimensional design, mosaic, illustration, caricature, etching print, signage, etc in their art exhibition “Abhivyakti ek prayaas”, at Jawahar Kala Kendra from 27th February-2nd March 2016. Dr. Ashok Gupta, Vice-Chancellor, The IIS University, congratulated all the participants for their untiring efforts towards putting this exhibition together. The inauguration of the show was done by the Guest of honour Kalavid Shri R.B. Gautam from Jaipur. Audiences from various art fields, schools, art studios, art galleries, colleges and people linked on attached to art market enjoyed an impressive body of student work. Works done by the first year students included the graphic’s wood and lino prints, applied art- basic design with geometric patterns and free hand drawing , painting work of outdoor sketches in tempera technique and still life object study work in various mediums.Students showcased their signage, shopping bags, logo designs, minute wood prints, nature photography etc. Sculpture students displayed their object study and hand studies done in terracotta. Senior students of applied art displayed posters over sensitive topics like no smoking and press ads on products and organisations and companies like Airtel, Skill India etc. Head study and painting compositions were also presented by the painting stream students. Senior students presented product hoardings, article illustrations and t-shirt designs printed and displayed. Caricatures, Comic strips with self created concepts and characters, murals made with tile mosaics and etching prints were also displayed. Masters sculpture students displayed compositions in various mediums and relief works with painted background in mixed media.
