Description:

Knowledge is best gained when experienced up close. The students of VII semester Applied Arts got a similar experience when they got to witness the printing process at Print O Land, Civil Lines on 8 October’22. 34 students gained practical knowledge of something which is a part of their curriculum. They were accompanied by Ms. Sheetal Chitlangiya and Manika Sharma.

Printing process is an integral part of Applied Arts, in order to work in the market it’s very essential to know how the printing is done. Diving into the factory full of printing equipment producing all kinds of materials like packaging, posters, advertisements, containers, cups etc. for all kinds of brands such as Kanha, NBC, Sleepwell, Sodhani and more added a back story to all the prints they come across daily. Watching machines working at their full capacity live and learning about each of them was very fascinating. The students were made aware of various offset CMYK printing machines, were introduced to plates, drip off machines, various paper used and dye cut machines.

The industry visit had the sole purpose to introduce the students to the world of Printing, giving them thorough knowledge about the whole working process and printing techniques used in the market. The owner himself interacted with all of them imparting knowledge about all printing machines and techniques. They got a chance to silence their curiosity by asking one to one questions to the people working there.

The visit turned out to be a great success in terms of opening up their minds towards the printing world. Overall experience was fabulous and added a lot of knowledge to the student's work process. A Great learning, helpful and informative experience.
