The Department of Fine Arts, IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur had organized a two-day National Conference on 3-4thMarch 2023, on ‘Reviewing Art, Aesthetics & Culture in Global Perspective’. The aim of the conference was to review and highlight the latest trends in painting, applied arts, graphics, art history, sculpture, music, literature and other arts. These arts are often considered to be the repository of a society's collective memory. Around the world, today, technological innovations and the immense progression in global communication emphasize the importance of art, aesthetics and culture in the formation of the advanced self, society, nation and the world.
The main focus of the conference was to provide to provide an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, scholars and educators to exchange ideas in order to foster knowledge and understanding of the trends, problems, issues, inquiries, etc., in this domain. We invited them to share hidden, innovative ideas and research on a common platform and present their thoughts on the theme.
OBJECTIVES
To review and highlight the latest trends in painting, applied arts, graphics, art history, sculpture, music, literature and other arts.
The goal of this presentation is to present the importance of art and aesthetic values.
To understand and provide a forum or platform for discussions on emerging ideas and technical aspects in art forms.
To unfold the need of art, aesthetics and culture in the formation of the advanced self, society, nation and the world.

The hybrid conference commenced on 3rd March, 2023 at 10:00 am with the inaugural session with a welcome note by the Chairperson Dr. Ashok Gupta, an introductory note about the conference by the Vice Chancellor Prof. T.N. Mathur and a vote of thanks by the Head of the Fine Arts Department Dr. Ujjvala M. Tiwari.
The academic session 1 was headed by the keynote speaker Prof. Y.S. Alone, School of Arts and Aesthetics at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi with a presentation on the title ‘Interrogating National-Global in Visual Art Practices’. Ms. Jyoti Jalan, Faculty, History of Art Department of Fine Arts IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur moderated this session. A Parallel Academic Session 1 A was conducted in which Prof. Tanuja Singh Former Head, Department of Drawing and Painting University of Rajasthan, Jaipur was the Chairperson. Dr. Ujjvala M. Tiwari, Head, Department of Fine Arts IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur moderated this session. Academic session 2 began at 2.30pm with the chairperson Prof. (Retd.) Shailendra Kushwaha Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda. He enlightened the participants with his perception on ‘Contemporary Indian Art’. Session was moderated by Prof. Sharad Rathore and Judge, Head, Department of History IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur.
On day 2, 4th March, 2023 academic Session 3 started at 11.30 am with the chairperson Dr. Sanjib Kumar Singh, Archaeologist and Museologist, HOD Publication and PO National Museum, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, New Delhi. He shared his views on ‘Museum A Learning Centre Engaging The Audience’. This was moderated by Prof. Sharad Rathore. The academic Session 4 was conducted with the chairperson Dr. I.U. Khan, Head, Department of, Drawing and Painting, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Ms. Sheetal Chitlangiya, Additional Head, Department of Fine Arts, IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur moderated this session. Parallel Academic Session 4 led by Dr. Ujjvala M. Tiwari who was Chairperson and Moderator.
The conference concluded with a valedictory session where participation certificates were given to all the participants and three certificates were given to the best presentations. Organizing secretaries of the conference were two faculty members –Ms. Sheetal Chitlangiya, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Fine Arts IIS (deemed to be University) and Ms. Jyoti Jalan, Faculty( Part Time), Dept. of Fine Arts IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur. Lastly formal vote of thanks was given by Dr. Ujjvala M. Tiwari, Associate Prof. & Head, Dept. of Fine Arts, IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur.
