Poster Making Competition-“VOTING RIGHTS” “आपका वोट आपकी पहचान”

An online poster making competition was conducted by the Department of Fine Arts on the theme “VOTING RIGHTS” “आपका वोट आपकी पहचान” in conjunction with the upcoming election. The coordinator of the activity was Ms Sheetal Chitlangiya. This was open for all the students of the IIS (deemed to be University).

 

The primary objective of the competition was to highlight the importance of voting rights and encourage civic engagement among individuals, irrespective of their backgrounds or affiliations. It was an inspiring and impactful event aimed at raising awareness and advocating for the fundamental right to vote. This competition served as a platform for the students to express their thoughts and creativity regarding the significance of voting rights in a democratic society.

 

Youths are the future of nation. It is important to motivate and impart knowledge about voting to the young people which activated through this competition. This was to inspire students towards political awareness and to caste their valuable vote with the full potential. It also encouraged political awareness and will improve voter registration processes, and create an environment where the youth feel empowered to participate in current elections.

 

Students from different departments enthusiastically contributed their artistic talent to create visually compelling posters and poured their creativity into designs that communicated powerful messages about the impact of voting, the history of voting rights struggles, and the need for inclusivity in the electoral process. The posters delved into various themes, showcasing the power of a single vote, honoring the historical milestones in the fight for voting rights, addressing contemporary challenges like voter suppression, and celebrating the diversity of voices that contribute to the democratic process.Some poster slogans created by the participants like Be Bright, Know Your Rights Vote for the Right, Who Runs the Country Right Our Vote will Decide, Band Karo Yei Chula Choka Matdan Ka Aya Mauka, Aao Eakta Ka Sabse Bada Tyohar Manae Karkei Matdan Desh Ka Bhavishya Banae and many more had an impactful record in viewers’ mind.

 

Mr. Shwet Goel, Associate Professor, Department of Fine Arts judged the posters on the basis of creativity, relevance to the theme, clarity of message, and artistic merit. The judging process was meticulous, considering the depth of the concept portrayed and the impact it could potentially have on viewers. Ayushi Jain stood first, Aditi Jain stood second, Yuvika Jain stood third, Megha Sharma, Palak Muchhal and Riya Jain got the consolation prize.

 

This initiative served as a powerful catalyst for advocating the fundamental right to vote. It reminded us that safeguarding and exercising our voting rights is crucial for a vibrant and participatory democracy. All the posters came out to be very informative and fruitful as they learnt about their right to vote and which also enhanced their practical skills. This will enable them to vote effectively in the upcoming elections as most of the students will be voting for the first time. Their knowledge gained through the activity will guide them to make their family and friends aware of the same and will result in 100 % voting in the state.
