The Department of Fine Arts organized a one-day visit for the students of BFA Sem VI Applied Art to an art event “RANG UTSAV” organized by Ravindra Manch, Jaipur on the occasion of Diamond Jubliee on 14 March 2024, allowing the students to engage and learn.
The event was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, and was welcomed with a graceful kathak performance and ganesh vandana. The program had exhibitions and workshops like Contemporary Art Camp, Sculptures Camp, Traditional Art Camp, Photo-Art Exhibition, Calligraphy Workshop, Rang Samvad, Resin Art Workshop, Open Mic, Story Telling, Poetry, Drum Circle, DIY. While promoting folk art and culture, a cultural performance of folk music by artist Bajrang Mewat and a captivating performance of classical music by Anita Raizada were added to the program. The exhibition hall was adorned with countless artworks, each telling its own story and showcasing the boundless creativity of the artists. From intricate paintings and sculptures to captivating photography, students were engaged which also ignited their curiosity and appreciation for the arts.
Some highlights included a puppet show, food stalls offering culinary delights, live painting artists, photographs on display and four days, four plays, 'Abhigyan Shakuntalam' play by Sufiyan Sufi,' Bhanwariya Kalate' play by Sikandar Khan, 'Bichchu' play by Hrishikesh Sharma of National School of Drama, 'Chehre' drama staged by Lalit Kala Sangam. Among the artists featured were our very own college professors, Mr. Shwet Goel Sir and Ms. Sheetal Chitlangya Ma'am, whose paintings added a personal touch to the exhibition. Particularly engaging was the live painting session by Shwet Goel Sir and other artists as well, providing students with a firsthand glimpse into the artistic process and perspectives on the art-making process. Many more artists Shri R B Gautam, L N Naga, Vinay Sharma, Hansraj Kumawat, Hariram Kumawat, Neelu Kanwari, Bhavana, Urvashi to name a few.
In addition, the exhibition also featured a unique attraction - the World's Biggest handwritten Quran Sharif. This feature drew attention to the richness of Islamic art and culture, providing students with a glimpse into the beauty of this tradition.
Throughout the visit, students were encouraged to observe, analyze, and interpret the artworks on display. Guided by their instructors, students actively participated in discussions, gaining insights into the themes, techniques, and meanings behind the artworks. The exhibition served as a dynamic educational platform, fostering critical thinking and artistic appreciation among the students.
The exhibition visit proved to be a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on the students of IIS deemed to be University. The diverse range of artworks, the opportunity to interact with artists, and the educational discussions all contributed to an inspiring experience.
