Portrait Study (Clay Modeling)
(Practical)

The students will-
CO123: Observe and analyze the basic character of a face of model to practice recognizing the volume of each part of the face.
CO124: Apply the knowledge of the structure of a skull to build an armature that is capable of sustaining the weight of an entire head.
CO125:Device a plan to distribute volume of clay across the head or a bust so that the sculpture does not crack with uneven weight distribution.
CO126:Explore character, features, bone structure, muscle distribution etc of a human face to learn to execute them as closely as possible in a 3D medium.
CO127:Devising and execute a plan of mold making of a portrait, taking into consideration the sensitive parts that could break in a mold like ears, eye balls etc.
CO128:Practice casting techniques of a portrait from clay to a permanent medium to be able to produce and exhibit well build permanent busts in the market

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration, Reading assignments.
