Objective: 

The course will enable the students to Identifying and exemplify the different art materials, tools and processes to produce an innovative and expressive piece of art that reflect their creative vision. Analyze, interpret, and evaluate the form, light, and shade to create original artworks in a specific medium. Explore and exemplify the use of mediums such as charcoal, drawing inks, dry pastels, oil pastels, pencil/pen, photo colors, and watercolor.

Study (Practical)

CO23: Create sketches practicing their observational skills of study objects that helps in skill development at later stages.

CO24: Display their observational and rendering skills in the final submission consisting of works constructed in various mediums and angles.

CO25: Produce artworks displaying observation and analysis of shape, form, tone and texture. Execute detailed drawing of study nature study, human, animal objects along drapery from given angles in chosen mediums.

CO26: Argue her understanding of still life, defending her works to develop profession integrity and code of conduct.

CO27: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

COURSE CONTENT:

Learn to indicate a simple form with one side light source using shadow and cast shadow with surface values. Emphasise on refining composition with space relationship and composing maximum 3 Objects with drapery, To study a any object side light source using shadow and cast shadow. Emphasis is placed on refining composition with cropping, overlapping and placement in the picture plane.

Medium: Pencil, charcoal, pastel (dry/oil), pencil colour, water colour, poster colour

Submission: Minimum - 3 Sheets
