Objective: 

The course will enable the students to display advanced level of understanding of what a composition is in a 3D work of art. They will able to form a connection in between two or more figures/objects in their artworks exemplifying their practice so far of elements and properties of art.

Composition

(Practical)

 

CO150: Compose a maquettes and layouts explaining the final works of compositions. Review basic principles and elements of art to construct a composition to create advanced compositions with enhanced understanding of line, volume, form, etc.

 

CO151: Prepare a portfolio depicting the understanding of the organic forms within the composition, constructing a relation between two or more forms exemplifying rhythm and balance to execute. Solve complex mould making, build castings with even layers of material, with proper finishing.

 

CO152:  Create sculpture displaying an understanding of anatomy of the chosen forms in the composition to build a sculpture that looks interesting from all directions which are capable to aesthetically communicating thoughts of the students.

 

CO153: Defend the understanding of composition, techniques developed and  establish herself as a sculptor.

 

CO154:  Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

 

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration, Reading assignments.

 

Learning activities for the students:

Sketching, lay outing, Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks, Field practical, handling of various material and mediums of art.

Layouts and Sketches, Continuous Assessment Test, Semester End Examinations, Daily Assignments, Observation, Student Teacher Interaction and Final Submissions.

 

 

 

COURSE CONTENT:

Advanced composition-individual or group compositions based on social subject suitable for execution in metal (scrap welding, casting)
