Objective: 

The course will enable the students to judge the movement of metal and construct hollow metal work. Students will be able to understand the intricacies of the process of metal casting, understand the science behind the processes, surface treatments on the casted work .

CO185: Combine all the

 found objects, wires, other metallic objects to build forms and shapes they desire, in ways of layouts and maquettes for the metal casting.

 

CO186: Create a portfolio  testing out processes like welding, rebiting, etc. to compose a sculpture with found metals or by joining casted metal. Constucting sculptures of global standards enhancing their chances of employment.

 

CO187: Defend their understanding of composition, concepts, self-expression, creativity and visual communication skills developed and establish herself as an employable artist.

 

CO188: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion on composition subjects, Tutorials, Videos, Demonstration, Reading assignments.

 

Learning activities for the students:

Sketching, lay outing, Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, presentation, Giving tasks,  Field practical, handling of tools and varied materials , giving tasks to create sketches, layouts.

COURSE CONTENT:

Flexible mould making and lost wax casting of composition suitable for metal casting with appropriate emphasis on technique.

 

SUBMISSIONS:  1 composition of Minimum of 1 ft.

      20 layout and drawing

5 sketches per day
